Starlux has received its first of five A350-900 series aircraft.
The Taiwan-based air carrier first signed a memorandum with Airbus in 2018 to order 12 new A350-1000s and five A350-900s.
The new A350, which was received on October 28, 2022, will fly alongside the carrier’s A330-900s as well as A321neos in an all-Airbus fleet according to planespotters data.
Starlux’ new A350s are to feature a four-class passenger cabin configuration, with four suites in first class, 26 seats in Business Class along with 36 ones in Premium Economy and a total of 240 in Economy.
“This delivery is a milestone for Starlux Airlines,” said Glenn Chai, CEO of StarLux Airlines. “The A350-900 is our first large widebody aircraft, which will allow Starlux to open markets for longer routes, and this also marks the next step for our partnership with Airbus, as there will be 17 more A350s deliveries in the future.”
Starlux Airlines was founded in May 2018 and launched operations in January 2020. It hopes to begin operations to Los Angeles in April 2023.
