Emirates’ codeshare agreement with Indonesian carrier Batik Air has become active, as of October 21, 2022, giving more connection options for passengers.
The Dubai-based carrier said in its announcement that it had placed its code on 8 routes operated by Batik Air via Jakarta to the following cities: Balikpapan (BPN), Denpasar (DPS), Medan (KNO), Manado (MDC), Padang (PDG), Surakarta (SOC), Surabaya (SUB) and Makassar (UPG).

Through an interline agreement, Emirates passengers can also access 17 more Indonesian points via Jakarta and Denpasar, to cities such as Praya (LOP), Semarang (SRG), and Sorong (SOQ).
The codeshare tickets can now be booked via the Emirates website, online travel agents, and travel agents.
Emirates has been operating flights to Indonesia for over 30 years, with its first flight to Jakarta in 1992.
It’s not the first codeshare for the UAE carrier in Indonesia. Emirates had launched its codeshare agreement with Indonesia’s national carrier, Garuda, in March 2022. Under the agreement, Garuda Indonesia had placed its code on routes operated by Emirates, between Jakarta and Dubai, in addition to onward flights to Paris, London Heathrow, Manchester, Milan and Barcelona from Dubai.
In turn, Emirates placed its code on Garuda Indonesia operated flights on ten routes via two of its hubs, both Jakarta and Denpasar.
Batik Air is a full-service Indonesian carrier which was founded in 2012. It currently flies to 44 domestic and Asia-Pacific destinations.
