British regional airline Loganair is looking for new owners, its chief executive has confirmed.

The airline is currently owned by Stephen and Peter Bond, but after 25 years of investing in the airline, including the last 10 as sole owners, they have decided to find “a new custodian” for the carrier, CEO Jonathan Hinkles said in a post on LinkedIn on October 9, 2022.

“It’s for the best of reasons – Stephen is now 72 years of age and wishes to step back from day-to-day business,” Hinkles wrote.  “That’s really the beginning, middle and end of the story right there.”

Loganair is based in Scotland and operates 46 aircraft, mostly Embraer ERJ-145, Saab 340 and ATR 72s and 42s, on regional routes across the UK and to Norway. Its aircraft sport a distinctive tartan livery.

Hinkles added that the outlook was good for Loganair.

“With Loganair performing strongly as the UK’s largest regional airline, our fleet renewal programme entering the home straight and soon to publish annual results which surpass those of any other UK airline which has reported thus far, our airline is firmly set on the most positive of paths for the future,” he said.
