France-based aerospace developer Aura Aero announced it has signed letters of intent (LOI) with several international airlines for more than 130 of its Electric Regional Aircraft (ERA).

According to the Aura Aero statement, ERA has attracted the attention of a total of nine airline customers. The manufacturer said that Gabon-based charter airline Afrijet signed order intensions for 10 planes, Malta-based private jet operator Elitavia expressed an intention to purchase 20 aircraft, Brazilian cargo carrier committed to order 20 planes, while France-based Flying Green signed for 10 ERAs.

In addition, Aura Aero said it agreed with Swiss air carrier FMS, a potential order for 10 planes, plus a further 25 with French regional airline Twin Jet.

“Three [other] airlines to be announced shortly”, Aura Aero declared in its statement, dated October 5, 2022.

“We are happy and proud to announce these new orders for ERA, an aircraft that will enable airlines to transport passengers and freight in total safety, with an extremely low emission rate and an unbeatable business plan. We are convinced, more than ever, of the relevance of this aircraft in the implementation of a decarbonized aviation,” the manufacturer’s co-founder Jeremy Caussade said.

In October 2022, aircraft lessor Amendo signed an LoI for 200 19-seater Aura Aero ERAs. This means that with the latest agreements, the manufacturer now preliminary deals for more than 330 planes.
