Thai Airways is looking for its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and is turning to professional networking site LinkedIn to find its ideal candidate.
The Thai national carrier has been operating for more than a year without a CEO after its acting CEO, Chansin Treenuchagron, resigned in June 2021 after the airline’s restructuring plan was approved.
Thai Airways said in its LinkedIn job post that the ideal candidate must be a “strong leader with an eye for driving our business to success, especially under the rehabilitation plan”.
The airline also asked applicants who are invited to the interview stage to review the airline’s rehabilitation plan and to present visions and ideas for “managing challenges under the context of business rehabilitation”.
While the ad did not mention a salary, it stated that the figure would be agreed by the board of directors based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Among the numerous qualifications for the role, the ideal CEO must be a Thai national and have an education of a master’s degree or higher. Thai Airways also said that the successful candidate must be “ethical”, highly adaptable, and create a positive image of the airline in the media.
As of the time of writing, the job ad has received 50 applications.
