American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) passengers can expect a new luxurious flying experience after the airline introduces its new premium seating product for its long-haul flights.
Called the Flagship Suite, the new seats will feature privacy doors, a chaise lounge seating option and more personal storage space. It will be included on the airline’s new Airbus A321XLR and Boeing B787-9 deliveries beginning in 2024.

The announcement comes a few weeks after reports suggested that American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) will remove first class when it reconfigures its Airbus A321 and Boeing 777-300ER fleets.

“We are enhancing the customer experience across their entire journey with American,” American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) vice president of customer experience Julie Rath said in a statement.
Rath added: “The arrival of new long-haul aircraft and the customized seat design of the Flagship Suite seats will offer customers a truly private premium experience on our long-haul fleet.”
The airline’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft will have 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats, and the airline’s Airbus A321XLR aircraft will feature 20 Flagship Suite seats and 12 Premium Economy seats.
American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) foresees that with the introduction of new interiors on its long-haul aircraft, premium seating will grow more than 45% by 2026.
The airline said that it will also be retrofitting its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to include the Flagship Suite seats. These 20 aircraft will be refreshed with the new interiors starting late 2024.
