Singapore will no longer require mask-wearing in indoor settings. The change will come into place on August 29, 2022.
Exceptions for this are: places where essential services are carried out, crowded areas, and places frequented by vulnerable individuals, the country announced in a statement.
Flag carrier Singapore Airlines (SIA1) (SINGY) will also no longer require its passengers to wear face masks on its flights, except passengers traveling to or from destinations where wearing face masks on board is still a requirement.
The airline has created a chart outlining the destination it flies to, along with each country’s respective mask ruling, and advises all passengers to check the information before traveling.
As of August 21, 2022, Singapore had 1,951 new COVID-19 cases. The country has a population of 5.82 million, where 88% are fully vaccinated.
