Turkish Airlines posts $737 million net income for H1 2022

Turkish Airlines reported a net income of $737 million in the first half of 2022 with revenues in the second quarter exceeding its pre-pandemic performance of $203 million.  

The Istanbul-based airline said in its latest financial report, which was released on August 12, 2022, that total revenues increased by more than 27%, reaching $7.6 billion during the period between January and June 2022.    

The carrier noticed a 21% increase in international operations compared to 2019 levels, carrying a total of 5.2 million international and 2.7 domestic passengers.   

In July 2022 alone, more than 7.8 million travelers flew onboard Turkish Airlines planes, reflecting a 9.9% increase compared to July 2019, the Turkish flag carrier added.  

During the first half of the year, Turkish Airlines managed to expand its network to a total of 335 destinations and expand its aircraft fleet to 386 jets.
