IAG, the owner of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling, will expand its fleet by adding 37 Airbus A320neo family aircraft.

The airline group will convert 12 options for A320neo family aircraft, dating from August 2013, to firm orders for A320neos and A321neos and will also order a further 25 A320neo aircraft. The new deal includes options for an additional 50 aircraft.

The aircraft will be delivered between 2025 and 2028 and will be used to replace A320ceo family aircraft in IAG’s short-haul fleet.

“The exact mix of A320neos and A321neos will be decided closer to the delivery dates,” the airline group outlined in a statement.

The news comes a month after the airline group announced it was converting 14 options for A320neo family aircraft, also dating from August 2013, into firm orders for 11 A320neos and three A321neos.
