The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it will award almost $1 Billion from the Biden administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding to improve the terminals of 85 airports across the United States.
One of the goals of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is to upgrade the country’s airports and ports to strengthen supply chains and prevent disruptions that have caused inflation.
A total of $5 billion has been granted to provide competitive grants for airport terminal development projects that address the aging infrastructure of US airports.
The FAA said that from the $1 Billion award that was announced on July 7, 2022, the focus will be on capacity expansion of airport terminals, increased energy efficiency, provision of greater accessibility for individuals with disabilities and promotion of competition. Two grants will also be awarded to build new air traffic control towers.
