Turkish Airlines plans to order around 30 Airbus A220 aircraft for regional routes, according to a Turkish aviation news website.

Haber.Aero reported on June 17, 2022 that it had received information that the carrier was looking at both the Embraer E195 and the A220 but that the operating costs and range of the Airbus aircraft were key in Turkish Airlines’ decision to opt for the A220.

Turkish Airlines, which plans to rebrand into Türkiye Havayolları, currently does not operate the A220. It does operate other Airbus aircraft, including the A320, A330 and A350.
