Norse Atlantic Airways has opened ticket sales for flights between London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The start-up carrier will launch Gatwick-JFK route on August 12, 2022, with round-trip fares starting from £255 (US$322). Flights between the UK and the US will be operated daily. Other US destinations will be announced shortly.

“We are very pleased to now be able to welcome customers looking to book great value flights between London Gatwick and New York JFK,” CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways Bjorn Tore Larsen announced in a statement.

“Passengers across London and the South East will now be able to benefit from another transatlantic service from Gatwick, with Norse offering excellent value for money for those flying out for a dream holiday, or important business trip, to New York,” CEO of Gatwick Airport Stewart Wingate added.

Norse Atlantic has not yet started flights, as it had delayed its planned launch due to uncertainties caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and rising oil prices. The carrier now expects to launch its first flight on June 14, 2022. Its first flights will be between Oslo and destinations in the United States.

The airline plans to have 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners in its fleet. Nine 787s are currently parked at OSL airport, according to Planespotters.net data.

Additionally, Norse Atlantic is currently sub-leasing two 787-8s and two 787-9s to Air Europa for a period of 18 months. The move is expected to help the carrier to bring in more cash.
