Bombardier announced it has expanded its Line Maintenance Station (LMS) facility at Le Bourget Airport (LBG) in Paris, one of the busiest airports for business aviation across Europe.
The move was made “to increase the capacity of maintenance and repair services for European customers”, the Canadian business jet manufacturer explained in the statement released on May 24, 2022.
“The expansion is another step in the company’s drive to lead the industry in aftermarket services by bringing best-in-class OEM [Original Equipment Manufacturer, ed.-] service, parts, and know-how closer to its customers,” Bombardier added.
Bombardier further said that the expansion has increased the availability of slots for light scheduled business jet maintenance as well as unscheduled maintenance tasks or aircraft-on-ground (AOG) maintenance and parking services.
After adding more than 30,000 sq. ft. (3,000 square meters) of hangar space, the manufacturer said that “Near term plans include the addition of wheel and battery shop maintenance services”.
The Le Bourget LMS facility, which is certified to provide maintenance services for the Learjet 60 and Learjet 75 business jets as well as Challenger and Global series corporate aircraft, can accommodate up to six Learjet or Challenger jets or up to three Global 7500 ultra-long-range business jets at a time.
In addition to Le Bourget, Bombardier also has seven other LMSs across Europe and owns two tip-to-tail heavy maintenance service centers at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and London Biggin Hill Airport (BQH).
