Russian flag carrier Aeroflot resumed flights to India and Turkey beginning May 6, 2022, two months after the suspension of international flights.

Aeroflot will operate two flights per week between Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) using its Airbus A330 aircraft.

The Russian national carrier has also resumed flights to Antalya and Istanbul using the Airbus A330 aircraft. Aeroflot will operate up to two weekly flights to both cities.

The news comes two months after Aeroflot suspended most of its international flights. Since February 24, 2022, when Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, Aeroflot has been steadily reducing its international network.

Flights to Ukraine and adjacent regions were canceled on the first day of the invasion, and flights to various European countries stopped following the announcement of numerous sanctions imposed on Russia in the days that followed.
