Despite the major turbulence, the aircraft landed safely. Shortly after the incident, footage appeared on social media showing the turmoil inside the aircraft. The video also shows that part of the cabin ceiling fell down, and the belongings of people were scattered all over the aircraft as a result of turbulence.
A number of people received head injuries and were taken to a hospital, according to several Indian media reports. India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) initiated a probe into the incident.
AeroTime has asked the DGCA for a comment.
