Emirates has received more than 300,000 applications for cabin crew jobs since the carrier launched its first recruitment drive post-pandemic in August 2021.
The airline plans to hire 6,000 new staff and aims to boost its operational workforce as travel demand continues to recover sooner than expected.
Speaking to The National on April 28, 2022, a spokesperson for Emirates confirmed that the airline has already received more than 300,000 applications for the cabin crew position. Emirates, the largest carrier in the United Arab Emirates, is offering a monthly salary starting from around $2,700 (AED9,770).
The spokesperson also revealed that Emirates Aviation College currently organizes training for around 120 new trainees each week.
“As we focus on recovery and further ramp up our operations, we are accelerating our recruitment drive with the objective to hire roughly 6,000 cabin crew positions during this financial year, from April 2022 to March 2023,” a spokesperson was quoted as saying.
Having already restored around 90% of its network by late October 2021, Emirates announced that it will also be recruiting a number of other staff, including pilots, engineering specialists, and ground staff members while planning to continue ramping up operations across its global network.
According to the official Emirates website, potential candidates should fit the UAE employment visa requirements and will be based in the airline’s main hub in Dubai. Candidates are also required “to have more than a year of experience in hospitability or customer services” and a minimum qualification of a high school degree.
Aside from the long list of requirements describing physical appearance, including minimum height requirement of 160 centimeters (around 5 feet 3 inches) and a request that applicants should not have any visible tattoos, a successful applicant must also be ready “to manage a demanding work schedule”.
