An Antonov An-26 transport aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force has crashed, killing one and injuring two, in the Zaporizhia region in southeastern Ukraine.

The An-26B-100 was carrying out a “technical flight” when it reportedly hit a power line, according to the regional administration of Zaporizhia. The region is partly occupied by the Russian armed forces.

The An-26 is a twin-engine turboprop cargo and utility aircraft built by Antonov between 1969 and 1986. On the first day of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, on February 24, 2022, another Antonov An-26 transport plane of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed near the village of Zhukivtsi, southeast of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital city.
