RwandAir flight WB464, a Bombardier CRJ-900, suffered a runway excursion at Entebbe International Airport on April 20, 2022, according to a statement from the airline.

The flight departed from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The incident occurred upon arrival at Entebbe in the early hours of the morning.

According to a statement released by the airline, the aircraft veered off the runway upon landing at Entebbe International Airport.

An initial, brief investigation suggests that bad weather conditions, including heavy rain, contributed to the cause of the crash.

The airline said that no injuries were reported, and all flight crew and passengers were evacuated from the plane safely.

An official investigation will be launched by the airline and Ugandan authorities.

“We are working closely with the local authorities, including the Ugandan Civil Aviation Authority, who will investigate the circumstances around the incident,” the airline said.

RwandAir currently operates a fleet comprising one Airbus A330-300, one Airbus A330-200, four Boeing 737-800NG, two Bombardier Q-400 NextGen, two Bombardier CRJ-900 NextGen, and two Boeing 737-700NG.
