Germany’s leisure airline Condor has unveiled a new livery which will see its aircraft painted in stripes. The new brand identity was inspired by objects associated with travel and holiday: umbrellas, beach chairs, and bath towels.

“Our new trademark are stripes, our figurative mark stands for our origin and the colors for diversity,” Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor, announced in a statement dated April 4, 2022. “This triad is new, what remains is our passion. It has always made Condor unique and is therefore also reflected in our claim: Passion is our compass.”

The fleet will have five different colors in a striped look: yellow, red, blue, green, and beige, representing the “diversity of Condor’s guests, employees and the multitude of opportunities to discover the world.”

As part of its rebranding, Condor plans to have about 80% of its fleet repainted by 2024. Currently, the airline operates a total of 51 aircraft, according to Planespotters.net. According to Condor, a total of six aircraft, including five Boeing 757s and one Airbus A321, will be flying in the new livery by summer 2022.

The design was revealed on Condor’s Airbus A330-900 aircraft (registration F-WWCS). The aircraft, which is due to enter service in autumn 2022, wears green stripes on a white background and the airline’s logo on the upper part of its tail.

The airline’s newly repainted Airbus A321, registered as D-AIAD, will start commercial service on April 5, 2022. The A321 aircraft wears yellow stripes.

“Our goal was to endow Condor with a special visual independence, the rationale of which is united in Condor’s brand essence: the invention of the vacation flight, and the effective vacation code, the stripes of summer, joy and freedom,” Remo Masala, owner of the Berlin-based creative agency ‘vision alphabet’ said.

As part of its new brand identity, Condor will also redesign crew uniforms, accessories, and many items onboard.
