Romania blocks bank accounts of three Aeroflot board members

The Romanian government has aligned with Western countries and imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and entities amid the invasion of Ukraine

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration of Romania (AAF) blocked by has blocked three bank accounts of Aeroflot’s representative office in Romania. Aeroflot falls into the list of international sanctions with a representative office registered in Romania. 

The accounts are controlled by Vitaly Gennadyevich Savelyev, Igorevich Poluboyarinov and Sergey Viktorovich Chemezov and are held at Raiffeisen Bank.  

“Blocking the funds held by the entity Aeroflot – Reprezentanta, indirectly controlled by listed individuals Vitaly Gennadyevich Savelyev, Igorevich Poluboyarinov, and Sergey Viktorovich Chemezov is ordered,” a statement from the ANAF reads

According to Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, local authorities have so far identified three companies and two individuals from Russia, who were made known to the NAF because they have been providing financial support to the Kremlin.
