As part of our activities to mark International Women’s Day, the AeroTime Global Executive Committee has announced the creation of a new recognition program for aviation professionals.

‘Aviation Champions’ will be recognized for their dedication to the industry and for their ongoing efforts to support, promote, encourage and inspire people across our industry.

Richard Stephenson, AeroTime CEO and Editor in Chief, said, “We believe that recognizing the contribution being made by amazing, energetic and committed people across our industry is incredibly important. The significant efforts of too many people often get overlooked, and we want to put that right by appointing our fellow aviation professionals as ‘Aviation Champions’.  We hope that by identifying these deserving people and presenting them with this industry recognition, we will be able to draw attention to their labor and help them advance their work.

“We want to inspire and encourage the next generation of aviation professionals, whether they be flight crew, cabin crew engineers, ground handlers, ATC, or one of the many other professions that keeps our sector going. Our industry is broad, and we need to understand the diversity of expertise that goes into its safe, smooth, and effective operation. Our Aviation Champions play important roles across our sector. We thank them for their efforts to date and for everything they will continue to do in the future.”

First Aviation Champion recognized

We are delighted to announce the very first ‘Aviation Champion’ on International Women’s Day 2022 as Hunter McLeod.

Hunter McLeod

Hunter, an Australia-based pilot, has been appointed in recognition of her dedication to the aviation industry, her positive attitude, and her work to spotlight the contributions of others. She is committed to helping and supporting aviation professionals both today and in the future.

We shared Hunter’s ‘My Covid Story’ last year and found her to be an inspirational aviator who is very deserving of this accolade. The AeroTime team looks forward to working with Hunter as the very first Aviation Champion.

AeroTime will be announcing the first five Aviation Champions this week as part of our WIA campaign. Stay tuned for the next announcement.

Congratulations, Hunter!
