A Red Wings Airlines Sukhoi SSJ100-95 passenger aircraft rolled off the runway after landing in Norilsk, Russia. There were 81 passengers and six crew members on board.

The incident occurred on November 24, 2021, when the Red Wings Sukhoi Superjet, registered as RA-89138, was operating domestic flight WZ-1279 between Chelyabinsk and Norilsk. According to Flightradar24.com data, the jet took off from Chelyabinsk Airport (CEK) at 5.05 a.m. (UTC) and touched down at Norilsk Airport (NSK) 2.5 hours later.

However, after landing, the jet veered to the left side of the runway and skidded for about 30 meters, the Transport Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia said in a statement. As reported by the Investigation Committee, Russian authorities began a pre-investigation check to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

The Investigative Committee statement said: “During the check, an assessment will be made of both the actions of the crew members and the actions of the aerodrome ground services.”

Roughly 80 minutes after the incident, the aircraft returned to the surface of the runway.
