Fiji’s flag carrier, Fiji Airways, will be returning to the skies with its regular international services resuming on December 1, 2021.

With its first commercial flight from Sydney to Nadi on December 1, 2021, Fiji Airways will end a 20-month hiatus of commercial flying. Fiji Airways will launch 14 flights a week between Nadi and Sydney, with daily flights to Melbourne and Brisbane also scheduled to resume.

Additionally, Fiji Airways will be reinstating its international schedule to the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, deploying its fleet of Airbus A350s, Airbus A330s, and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

“After almost two years of no tourism, we are more than ready to safely welcome back international travelers from 1st December and greet them with our famous Fijian hospitality. Fiji’s entire tourism industry has been waiting for this,” Fiji Airways Managing Director & CEO Andre Viljoen announced in a statement.

Following the announcement of the Fijian government’s reopening to fully-vaccinated travelers, Virgin Australia has also announced it will resume air travel between Australia and Fiji starting December 16, 2021.

“We’re pleased to bring forward the resumption of our Fiji services to better align with the start of the summer holiday period, making it easier for travellers to get to their destination in advance of the festive season,” read Virgin Australia’s statement.
