Wizz Air is reportedly in talks with Airbus over a new aircraft order. The Hungarian low-cost carrier is understood to be eyeing an order for at least 100 Airbus aircraft.

The negotiations between Wizz Air and Airbus about the new aircraft order began several months ago and “continued over the summer”, industry sources told Reuters. However, the parties are not ready to publicly announce the deal just yet, as outlined in the publication released on September 9, 2021.

AeroTime News has asked Wizz Air for a comment.

Currently, Wizz Air has 145 aircraft in its fleet with an average of 5.1 years old, the Planespotters.net data shows. The Hungarian airline operates exclusively Airbus aircraft:  76 Airbus A321s, 68 Airbus A320s, and one Airbus A330 aircraft.

According to Airbus orders and deliveries data, Wizz Air has 388 aircraft orders.
