After a 13-year hiatus, Singapore Airlines (SIA1) (SINGY) resumed their Taipei to Los Angeles non-stop flight service. The ‘maiden’ flight departed Singapore on August 25, 2021.

The A350-900 aircraft was then given a water salute when it landed at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). A few hours later, Singapore Airlines SQ 36 departed Taiwan for Los Angeles, where it arrived 15:20 (3:20 PM) local time on the same day August 25, 2021.

Singapore Airlines General Manager in Taiwan Chua Kian Hwa says that bringing back the Taipei to Los Angeles service was an indication of the airline’s commitment to expand its Taiwan routes. Chua says, “we will remain nimble and flexible during this time and be alert to all possible revenue and growth opportunities in passenger and cargo.”

Currently, Singapore Airlines (SIA1) (SINGY) flies seven times a week between Singapore and Taipei, and three of those flights will continue to Los Angeles. The Taipei to Los Angeles flights are scheduled every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The return flights from Los Angeles to Taipei will depart Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 00:40 (12:40 AM) every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and will arrive in Taipei at 06:10 AM the following day.
