British start-up airline Hans Airways is about to begin recruitment of flight crew for its Airbus A330 wide-body fleet, part of preparations to receive its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

The new airline, which hopes to launch later in 2021, is teaming up with  Swiss aviation recruitment company Resource Group in the flight crew recruitment process.

“This recruitment agreement is a well-timed development as we prepare to launch our direct non-stop flights to India later in 2021,” Nathan Burkitt, Director of Flight Operations and Crew Training at Hans Airways, commented in a statement dated August 23, 2021.

“It will allow the leadership team to focus on our launch preparations while at the same time filling the essential flight crew roles that we need,” Burkitt added. “Resource Group brings decades of invaluable experience in this field, having worked with the likes of British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, and easyJet, to name but a few of their other airline partners.”.

The new air carrier aims to hire an undefined number of the flight crew, including Captains, First Officers, and Training Captains, who are licensed to operate Airbus A330-200 wide-body passenger aircraft. Hans Airways plans to operate the fleet of A330s on long-haul low-cost routes connecting UK cities and India. As part of preparation work to gain its AOC, the newcomer has  scheduled approving flight in October 2021.

Founded in October 2019, Hans Airways is keeping its exact launch date under wraps for now.

“We have determined a planned launch date internally, and we will make an announcement once all regulatory requirements are complete,” Burkitt said.
