In our new programme, “AeroTime Question Time”, we ask six women leaders in aviation from four continents, a round of rapid-fire questions about diversity and inclusion.
This inaugural program is dedicated to women in aviation and features some of the first recipients of the new “AeroTime Aviation Achievement Award’ – all recognized for their dedication to the industry and for their work promoting equality.
In this first programme, we speak to Veranita Yosephine, Indonesia AirAsia’s CEO, Katherine Bennett, Senior Vice President at Airbus, Jacqueline Sutton, the COO at Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, leaders at the United States Federal Aviation Administration Deloris W. Martin and Ali McDermott, Kate Staples, the General Counsel at UK CAA, Temitayo Shittu, the Head of Product and Marketing at Wakanow travel agency, and Rachel Gardner-Poole, the Director of Organizational Design and Development at the UK Space Agency.
We asked them how aviation has changed for women during their careers, how the Covid pandemic has affected the situation and if it presented more or fewer opportunities for women, what should happen next to promote greater inclusion, and how to encourage more females to join the industry. Finally, we asked which women in aviation inspired them.
