The Polish airline Buzz, a subsidiary of Ryanair Holdings, is set to receive its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in Q1 2021.

The carrier expects to receive 6 Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft by early 2021, showed the latest financial performance report of Ryanair Holdings. According to Planespotters.com data, the Polish charter airline will take six Boeing 737 MAXs, which are already registered as SP-RZA, SP-RZB, SP-RZC, SP-RZD, SP-RZG, and SP-RZH. The air carrier also waits for delivery of a total of 47 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Buzz’s parent company Ryanair ordered 75 additional Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft, a variant of the 737 MAX-8 specifically developed for the low-cost market, in December 2020. According to Ryanair’s backlog for Boeing 737 MAX jets, the owner of Buzz boosted its commitment to the type, consisting of 135 firm and 75 options, to a total of 210 MAX 8-200 aircraft.

Although the MAX 8-200 variant has yet to be certified, the ch-aviation.com fleet module showed that the first six jets have been already assigned to the Polish subsidiary.

Speaking to the media in December 2020, Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair Holdings, said that the first batch of the MAX 8-200s could be delivered even in February 2021. This allows speculating that Buzz may receive its MAXs as soon as next month. The six Boeing 737 MAX 8s will be the first aircraft painted in Buzz’s own livery. The whole order consisting of 210 MAX 8-200 aircraft is expected to be delivered to Ryanair Holdings and its subsidiaries by December 2024.

Warsaw-based Buzz obtained its Polish air operator’s certificate (AOC) in April 2018.
