The rollout of COVID-19 vaccination program is essential to safeguard frontline aviation workers who often come into contact with passengers and help to move essential goods across the globe, according to Emirates Airlines.
The Emirates Group is offering staff Pfizer-BionNTech vaccine as well as the other vaccine developed by China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm), which have been approved by the United Arab Emirates health authorities.
Inoculation appointments will run at various Emirates Group company locations across UAE for 12 hours a day and 7 days per week to ensure that as many aviation employees can get the vaccine.
The United Arab Emirates aims to vaccinate more than 50% of its population by the end of March 2021.
Emirates Airlines followed Singapore Airlines (SIA1) (SINGY) (SIA), which have already started offering Singapore-based employees to take a COVID-19 vaccine on January 12, 2021.
