Virgin Atlantic Cargo, a division of Virgin Atlantic Airways, launched a new pharma service as a part of the company‘s preparation to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine throughout its network worldwide as soon as it appears on the market.

Virgin Atlantic Cargo announced that in order to be able to complete all urgent, valuable, and vulnerable shipments, the newly-launched Pharma Secure service would offer clients temperature-controlled facilities, automatic live status updates, and periodical integrity checks, as well as include 24/7 support team and proactive service recovery.

In a statement released on November 17, 2020, the air carrier stated that it aspired to “play a part in supporting the COVID-19 recovery“ by transporting the vaccine and other pharmaceutical products to the United Kingdom as well as other destinations.

Since its first cargo operation on March 21, 2020, Virgin Atlantic Cargo started scheduled cargo flights in a frequency of up to 190 operations per week, according to the air carrier.
