The yearly celebration of creative costumes, trick or treating and horror stories might look different this year. But nothing will stop us from an evening at home watching nerve-wracking movies about airplanes. Be careful, after watching some of them, you might develop a fear of flying!

The Langoliers (1995)
Stephen King’s novel adapted to TV mini-series. During a transcontinental red-eye flight full of passengers, a little girl wakes up in the middle of the night to ask for some water. But her aunt is gone, so the girl goes searching for her. Few other passengers start wandering around just to realize that everyone else disappeared, even the pilots. The aircraft is on autopilot and it is up to the remaining travelers to solve the mystery.

Flight Plan (2005)
Overnight flight to New York. A single mother Kyle Prat and her six-year-old daughter are flying to bury the dead husband’s ashes. After a long nap, she wakes up to realise that her daughter is missing. Kyle starts to panic when the flight crew informs her she boarded the airplane alone. In a big double-decker plane, the mother is battling to find the truth.

Red Eye (2005)
A young woman Lisa is on her way to Miami. Like in all horror stories, everything seems to be normal in the beginning. Before boarding the airplane she meets a nice handsome man. Maybe a little too nice. During the flight they are seated next to each other. Suddenly he whispers that Lisa’s father is taken hostage and she has to help assassinate a Homeland Security official. An intense effort to outplay the terrorist begins.

Snakes on a Plane (2006)
A thrilling movie with a good dose of humor. FBI agent played by Samuel L. Jackson escorts a key witness of a murder trial. They are on flight from Hawaii to California. There is just one problem – the airplane is full of poisonous snakes that attempt to kill the witness and crash the airplane. Passengers must battle the snakes and try to save themselves.

Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011)
If you like stories about fast-spreading viruses and zombie attacks – this movie is for you. It begins with a flight from LA to Nashville. A passenger carries a cage with hamsters. One of them bites another passenger and spreads a mysterious virus. People are turning into monsters while others are trying to save themselves. Upon landing, the survivors are put into quarantine and things get even scarier.
