Embraer delivers 250th private jet, 7 E-jets for commercial use

Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace manufacturer, delivered a total of 28 aircraft in the third quarter of 2020. The delivery list showed that the planemaker accomplished 21 executive aircraft orders of which 19 were light and the other 2 large jets. Embraer also handed over 7 commercial aircraft.

The firm backlog showed that during the third quarter of 2020 the company fulfilled orders which totaled $15.1 billion. The manufacturer delivered 6 Embraer 175 jets and 1 Embraer 190 aircraft for customers of commercial aviation. The company has a total of 9 aircraft orders remaining which includes 11 Embraer 175s, 1 the E190, 3 Embraer 190-E2s and 1 Embraer 195.

As for commercial aviation customers, Embraer signed an agreement with Helvetic Airways, a Swiss regional airline, under which the manufacturer committed to convert 4 of their remaining orders to larger E195-E2 jets. The original Helvetic Airways order for 12 E190-E2s with purchase rights for a further 12, and conversion rights to the E195-E2, was announced in September 2018.  Embraer has so far delivered 5 E190-E2s to the customer airline.

According to the manufacturer, the remaining 7 aircraft deliveries for the Swiss airline, including the four committed-to-convert E195-E2s, would be completed before the end of 2021, with the majority handovers in the first half of 2021.

Meanwhile, Embraer announced that during the third quarter it transferred 2 first-generation used E195 jets for Bamboo Airways, a Vietnamese leisure airline.

As for business aviation, the backlog of the third quarter 2020 outlined the milestone of 250th business jet which the manufacturer reached with the delivery of Phenom 100EV and Phenom 300E planes for private Brazilian customers. Embraer Executive Jets also announced the delivery of the first Phenom 300E jet equipped with the new Bossa Nova interior to Joe Howley, the Co-founder of Patient Airlift Services (PALS).
