A United Kingdom Royal Air Force (RAF) C-17 Globemaster arrived in Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ), the main international airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The giant landed to complete a special military task.

Sarajevo International Airport (SJJ) greeted the heavy-lift strategic transport aircraft on October 1, 2020. The giant RAF plane arrived to return the last troops, vehicles and other military equipment used during Quick Response 2020, the annual European Union Force‘s (EUFOR) military training exercise.

The cargo of the giant military aircraft included the Foxhound armored vehicles and military recovery trucks.

The C-17 Globemaster is a long-range aircraft that is able to transport 45,360kg of freight for more than 8,334km while flying at altitudes above 35,000ft. This giant military cargo plane can operate close to a potential area of combat operations, and assist in peacekeeping or humanitarian missions, as the aircraft design enables high-angle and steep approaches at relatively slow speeds. It allows the aircraft to operate from small austere airfields and runways as short as 3,500ft long and just 90ft wide.
