Global aircraft lessor AerCap has reported a drop in Q2 2020 lease agreements totaling only 10 aircraft, a 38 aircraft decrease when compared to Q2 2019.

10 aircraft leased included one widebody and 9 narrowbody airframes, in contrast, in Q2 2019 AerCap signed agreements to lease out 4 widebodies and 44 narrowbodies, according to the company.

The lessor has also felt an impact on its trading part of the business, managing to sell only 9 narrowbody aircraft, while in Q2 2019 AerCap traded 23 aircraft including narrow and widebody airframes.

In other news, the lessor managed to raise US$3 billion funding in Q2 2020, including US$2.5 billion of unsecured bonds. In Q2 2019 AerCap completed only US$1.5 billion worth of “financing transactions”.
