On May 29, 2020 Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizzair accepted its first A320neo aircraft. The next generation aircraft bears Hungarian registration of HA-LJA.

HA-LJA joined 121 other aircraft found in Wizzair’s fleet. The airline has said that the A320neo model incorporates newest technologies in aviation and offers 50% reduction in noise footprint, 20% reduction in fuel consumption and nearly 50% lower amount of nitrogen oxide emissions.

The aircraft is configured with 186 economy seats and is powered by Pratt&Whitney engines.

Wizzair expects to operate seven A320neo aircraft by the end of the fiscal year. Currently the airline has 65 jets of this model on order and continues to follow strict Airbus-only fleet policy.

Wizzair’s CEO Jozsef Varadi has said that the twinjet is a “true symbol” of the airline’s low-cost business model.
