A FedEx flight from Liege (Belgium) to Dubai (UAE) was diverted to Cologne (Germany) after declaring an emergency.
The McDonnell Douglas MD-11F registered N572FE, was carrying out flight FX5092 from Liege Airport (LGG) to Dubai International Airport (DXB).
However, 50 minutes into the flight, as it was passing over the city of Ulm (Germany), the crew squawked 7700 (general emergency). Reducing their altitude by 2.4 kilometers (8,000 feet), the aircraft entered a holding pattern for about ten minutes before diverting to Cologne Airport (CGN).

AeroTime reached out to FedEx and Cologne Airport to know the details of the emergency. It has not received an answer at the time of publication.
The McDonnell Douglas MD-11F N572FE is a converted freighter acquired by FedEx in 2009. The airframe started as an airliner with Garuda in 1997.
