BAA Training, one of the TOP 3 biggest independent aviation training centres in Europe announces further expansion in Spain. Being a global aviation training provider BAA Training chose the location and started the establishment of a training center near Barcelona–El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport.
By establishing BAA Training Spain, the company is to open a 5300-square-meter modern training center with the brand new training equipment, classrooms, briefing rooms and a luxury lounge. According to the BAA Training representatives, BAA Training Spain is set to operate 7 full flight simulators by 2023, becoming the biggest training center in Southern Europe.
As the building reconstruction work is already underway, the first two full flight simulators are already scheduled for 2020. Airbus A320ceo full flight simulator is bound to be ready for training in August, while the second one, Boeing 737NG, is planned to start operation in September. With all the 7 simulators in operation, BAA Training Spain will be ready to accommodate European market with more than 51 thousand flight training hours and provide recurrent pilot training for approximately 6,000 pilots yearly.
Even though the training center will be equipped with full flight simulators and flight training devices suitable for pilot type rating qualification, pilot recurrent training and wet and dry FFS lease services, it also opens a possibility to provide the market with a full scope of pilot training in Spain.
“Over the past few years BAA Training has been taking strategic development steps by adding additional training locations in Spain. With the already operating two Ab Initio flight bases in Spain, and the modern FFS training center, BAA Training has created aviation training hub in Spain, ready to accommodate any airline pilot training needs within our developed Cadet, MPL or other training programs”, comments Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO at BAA Training.
BAA Training Spain, located just 10 minutes’ drive from the El Prat airport, the second largest and busiest airport in Spain, creates a perfect location for airlines and independent aviation professionals to have their training. The airport, which in 2019 handled a record number of over 52 million passengers, is a convenient air transport hub with daily flights as over 90 airlines operate in it. “Within easily reachable location and accommodation solutions nearby as well as shuttle buses, the training center allows airlines to cut down on money and time expenses”, adds E. Vaitkeviciute.
