The Franco-Italian regional aircraft maker ATR signs 75 orders, including 17 for the new ATR 42-600S, at the International Paris Air Show. The value of firm orders are around $1.7 billion.

Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) placed a firm order for 35 ATR72-600s, with options for a further 35 and purchase rights for another 35. “This 100+ aircraft deal [will] ensure that airlines can lease and operate the most modern and eco-responsible regional aircraft available in the market,” NAC Chairman Martin Møller is quoted in a press release.

Other orders ATR landed during the show include Air Tahiti’s order for two ATR 42-600S and Elix Aviation Capital order for 10 ATR 42-600S. The ATR 42-600S is a Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) variant of the ATR 42.

The manufacturer based in Blagnac, France, is known for its 42-600S and 72-600F, two twin-turboprop regional airliners. ATR claims that its turboprop aircraft produce 50% less carbon when compared with other regional jets.
