Delta Air Lines’ initial A330-900 – the longer-fuselage version of Airbus‘ A330neo jetliner – performed its first flight from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport in southwestern France.

The aircraft, registered F-WWKF, made its inaugural test flight on May 7, 2019, from Toulouse airport to La Rochelle, before flying back to Airbus facilities. The flight lasted five hours. The twin-engine jet, one of 35 Delta has on order, is due to be delivered to the Atlanta-based airline in the coming weeks.

Delta Air Lines will be the launch customer for the Airbus A330-900neo in the United States.  On November 19, 2018, the airline ordered an additional 10 A330-900s from Airbus. The aircraft should be delivered by 2023. In return, the American airline delayed the delivery of ten A350 to 2025-2026, while it should receive four more between 2019 and 2020.
