The Brazilian aviation authority (ANAC) has certified the new Embraer Praetor 600 business jet for domestic use on April 18, 2019. The manufacturer expects the American and European type certificates in the near future.

The midsize business jet that was presented in October 2018 at the NBAA-BACE convention has exceeded its specifications, being able to travel more than 4,000 nm (7,450 km), and thus capable of non-stop flights between London and New York, Sao Paulo and Miami, or Dubai and London. The aircraft can also take off from runways as short as 4,436 feet (1,352 m), once again exceeding expectations. The aircraft is powered by two Honeywell HTF 7500E turbojet engines.

“Our engineering and program teams have outperformed again by passionately designing, developing and certifying the class-leading Praetor 600 business jet, exceeding specifications and expectations, and ahead of schedule,” said Paulo César Souza e Silva, Embraer CEO, in an official press release. “This advanced aircraft reflects not only our journey of innovation, it is also a preview of the future of this great company.”

The smaller version, the Praetor 500, is planned to be certified in the third quarter of 2019.
