Boeing and Japan Airlines (JAL) have announced a new agreement for up to 20 more 787 Dreamliners.
This deal, announced on the first day of the 2024 edition of the Farnborough International Airshow, includes orders for 10 Boeing 787-9s with options for 10 additional aircraft. JAL already operates a fleet of over 50 787s deployed on international routes to North America, Asia, and India.
“We greatly appreciate the strong relationship and support from Boeing, which has been instrumental in our efforts to modernize our fleet and expand our international routes,” said Yukio Nakagawa, JAL Executive Officer of Procurement.
Once this order is finalized, JAL will have 10 Boeing 787s and 21 737 MAX jets on order. With a range of up to 7,565 nautical miles (14,010 kilometers), the 787-9 offers the longest-range capability within the Dreamliner family.
