Ryanair has announced that it will be creating 150 new cabin crew positions in the UK as part of the airline’s expansion plans for 2024. The recruitment drive will see 100 additional cabin crew jobs at London-Stansted Airport (STN), while a further 50 jobs will be created at the airline’s base at Liverpool-John Lennon Airport (LPL).
To equip itself for what the airline expects to be a record-breaking year in 2024, the airline has started the recruitment process early. With another 57 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft (or 737-8200s, using Ryanair’s nomenclature for the type) due to arrive with the Ryanair Group of airlines before May 2024, the carrier has a lot of new positions to fill before the new capacity arrives.
Cabin Crew International, Ryanair’s recruitment partner, will hold a recruitment ‘meet and greet’ at London-Stansted Airport on November 29 to facilitate the filling of the additional cabin crew positions.
At the session, attendees can meet with current Ryanair crew members and learn about life as cabin crew at the leading low-cost airline group.
“We are delighted to announce a major recruitment drive for 100 cabin crew positions at Stansted, and we invite those interested in applying to come along to the recruitment event taking place at Stansted to meet the team and learn more about these exciting roles,” said Ryanair’s Chief People Officer, Darrell Hughes. “We look forward to welcoming new cabin crew onboard in the lead up to Summer 2024 as Ryanair continues to grow to carry 300 million passengers by 2034.”
Elsewhere and further north of London-Stansted, the airline is also seeking a further 50 cabin crew at Liverpool Airport.
Similar to the event being held at London-Stansted on November 29, the airline will also be holding a recruitment open day in Liverpool on November 30.
Winter expansion plans
Although the airline group is getting underway in its preparations for summer 2024, the carrier is already underway with its winter expansion program at various London airports where it already has established crew bases.
Throughout the 2023/24 winter season, London-Gatwick (LGW), London-Luton (LTN), and London-Stansted (STN will add departures to seven new destinations across Europe and North Africa. These include the ski-based gateways of Basel (BSL) and Tatry (TAT), as well as the increasingly popular winter sun destinations of Ouarzazate (OZZ) and Vigo (VGO).
Elsewhere across Ryanair’s expansive European network, Belfast International Airport (BFS), Tirana International Airport (TIA), and Treviso Airport (TSF) are also included in the group’s expansion plans, strengthening connectivity between the UK, Ireland, and Southern Europe.
Additionally, a further 30 existing Ryanair scheduled service routes will have their frequencies increased. This includes the popular winter sun destinations of Alicante (ALC), Athens (ATH), and Faro (FAO).
Overall, the Ryanair Group is expanding its network capacity from its three London airports by 15% over the previous winter period. The Ryanair Group of airlines includes Ryanair (Ireland), Ryanair UK, Malta Air, Buzz and Lauda Europe.
