The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) displayed teamwork and goodwill when the two joined forces to transport military aircraft to Honiara Airport (HIR) in the Solomon Islands ahead of the Pacific Games 2023.

The RAAF used its C-17 Globemaster III to contain and transport RNZAF’s NH90 helicopter to Honiara.

The Solomon Islands will host the Pacific Games in Honiara from November 19 to December 2, 2023, with 5,000 participants (including athletes, officials and support staff) from 24 Pacific countries, including Australia and New Zealand.
