All-business class carrier BermudAir, which launched at the end of August 2023, has re-thought its seating configuration and will now offer economy seating as well as luxury suites.
The airline announced on October 10, 2023, it will be introducing a dual-class cabin experience on its flights from Quarter 4 to Bermuda.
When the airline launched the plan was that BermudAir’s Embraer E175 aircraft would begin operations with a standard 88-seat configuration, but with only 44 seats sold for each flight.
From November 1, 2023, BermudAir planned to introduce 30 seats luxury seating suites which would “usher in a new era of business class air travel with the introduction of Aisle Class”.
According to the airline, the original seating concept was designed to eliminate the aisle vs window seat dilemma, with only two seats across from each other in each row.
However, the carrier has revealed passengers will now be able to choose “between the Aisle Class experience, which will feature BermudAir’s innovative suites, or economy travel”.
“The strategic shift in service plans enables BermudAir to honor its commitment to provide consistent, convenient service to and from Bermuda, while also responding to evolving market dynamics and preliminary guest feedback from its phased launch,” Adam Scott, CEO, of BermudAir said.
Scott added: “After nearly 170 successful flights, it’s clear that there is strong demand for direct, short-haul and premium flights between Bermuda and the East Coast. We’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests about their experience onboard BermudAir, but guests also desire more options and flexibility. BermudAir is uniquely positioned to fill that need with our dual-class cabin.”
BermudAir is currently finalizing the number of suites and economy seats that will be available to passengers but both travel options are now available for purchase.
BermudAir currently operates three direct routes to Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Westchester County Airport (HPN), located near New York City.
