Tom Brady, a now-retired National Football League (NFL) quarterback, has joined Delta Air Lines as a strategic advisor.

Introduced as a “seven-time Super Bowl champion, entrepreneur and philanthropist”, Delta Air Lines said that its “innovative” partnership with Brady will connect his “expertise in teamwork, performance, and perseverance” directly with the carrier.

“Delta’s people are driven by their commitment to world-class performance, excellence and a desire to achieve best-in-class results,” Ed Bastian, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Delta Air Lines, said.

Bastain added that bringing Brady on board furthers the airline’s mission “to connect the world while accelerating our drive to continuously improve for our colleagues, customers and communities”.

The former NFL player will work with three main areas within the company.

Firstly, he will work with the airline to enhance training and teamwork procedures for more than 90,000 Delta Air Lines employees.

Secondly, using the “Keep Climbing” ethos, the athlete “will support the company’s brand identity in select elements of Delta’s marketing and customer engagement”.

Lastly, Brady will support the airline in positively impacting communities where Delta Air Lines’ employees live and work “inspiring the next generation of Delta community leaders”.

“I am grateful to be joining the Delta family, a company I have loved and respected for years,” Brady stated, adding that his mother was a flight attendant, which is why he has always “admired the people that make seamless air transportation possible”.

Throughout 23 years in the NFL, Brady traveled with Delta Air Lines “countless times”.

“Now, alongside Ed and the Delta team, I look forward to playing my part to continue the company’s success,” the ex-NFL player concluded.
