As Emirates marks 20 years of flying from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Brisbane Airport (BNE), the airline announced it is adding a second daily service to the Queensland capital.

Starting June 1, 2023, Emirates will operate the second daily flight to and from Brisbane with a Boeing 777-300ER on the following schedule:

EK 430 will depart Dubai at 0230 local time, arriving in Brisbane at 2220 local time.

EK 431 will depart Brisbane at 0250 local time, arriving in Dubai at 1100 local time.

Emirates currently serves Brisbane with a daily A380 flight. The airline will offer almost 12,000 seats per week with the addition of the B777 daily flight.

“Our second daily service to Brisbane begins as we proudly celebrate 20 years of flying to the sunshine state,” Barry Brown, divisional vice president Australasia at Emirates said in a statement.

“Not only will this service cater to the demand of Australians looking to travel overseas, but also welcome more travelers and tourists from Dubai and across our global network to enjoy Queensland, Australia’s tourism mecca,” Brown added.

Acting Premier of Queensland, Steven Miles gave emphasis to the additional jobs that the increased Dubai-Brisbane route will bring.

“The extra service is estimated to provide an additional 730 direct and indirect jobs for the state. Emirates’ extensive worldwide network to over 130 destinations will ensure a high level of connectivity with the United Kingdom, Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and North America,” Miles said.

Emirates has been serving Australia since 1996, transporting passengers to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth from Dubai. With the additional Brisbane service,  Emirates will operate a total of 49 weekly flights to Australia starting June 2023.
