Emirates Boeing 777-300ER (registered A6-ENN) was damaged after an air bridge malfunctioned during disembarking in Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) the Philippines.

On August 14, 2020, the Emirates aircraft performed the flight EK332 from Dubai to Manila. The airbridge was deployed upon arrival, at some point nearly ripping off the 777 front door. Repairs will be needed and may take several days before the aircraft can return to commercial service.

As of August 17, no further details are disclosed regarding the incident, but the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said that it is working closely with the Emirates’ team to investigate what caused the jet bridge malfunction.

The flight EK332 was returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) from Dubai. Luckily, no casualties were reported as the incident avowedly took place after the passengers had already deplaned.
