AirAsia X (AAX) will resume services to South Korea and India starting from April 20, 2022.
Flights to Delhi Airport (DEL) will be operated twice a week, while flights to Incheon Seoul International Airport (ICN) will be conducted once a week.
The airline restarted its first scheduled passenger services to Sydney, Australia in February 2022, almost two years after the global pandemic brought air travel to halt.
“Now that the world is finally opening up, we are gradually resuming flights to our key markets, starting with Sydney recently and now also to South Korea and India, with more popular destinations to be announced soon,” CEO of AirAsia X Benyamin Ismail said.
The airline, which has no domestic market, has been significantly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But after its successful restructuring, the airline has expressed that it can now see “light at the end of this long tunnel”.
AirAsia X, the long-haul subsidiary of AirAsia Group, first announced its debt restructuring scheme as a measure to escape liquidation in October 2020.
