Airbus has announced its orders and deliveries data for March 2022, in which the European manufacturer confirms that it made 63 deliveries to 38 customers.

Airbus said that so far in 2022, it has delivered a net 140 aircraft to 48 customers. The statement came after two A350-900 deliveries to Aeroflot were cancelled. Airbus had recorded the two aircraft in December 2021 but was unable to deliver then due to international sanctions imposed on Russia.

To date, Airbus recorded 253 gross orders for the year as of March 31, 2022, with a net total of 83 after cancellations.

Its single-aisle aircraft accounted for the bulk of its order book. The A320neo and the A321neo models were the most popular models with 88 and 83 gross orders.

However, the manufacturer recorded 63 cancellations for its A321neo and 17 cancellations for the A320neo, resulting in 20 and 71 net orders, respectively.

The bulk of cancellations were recorded for Airbus’ A330-900. According to the manufacturer, 83 cancellations were recorded for this type.

This reduction came as a result of significant restructuring by one of its largest customers, AirAsia X. According to a report by Reuters, AirAsia X cancelled 63 A330-900s and 10 A321neos during its restructuring process.

Quarterly data from Boeing is expected in mid-April 2022, according to Reuters.
