American low-cost airline JetBlue Airways revealed a new tail design for its first Airbus A321LR aircraft. The A321LR was selected to operate the airline’s first European destination in 2021.
The design of the A321LR tail fin features waving ribbons in varying shades of blue. The design of the painting was created specifically to emphasize a route to London as the airline is still targeting 2021 for the launch of transatlantic operations.
JetBlue (JBLU) revealed that all tail fins of the 13 A321LRs it has ordered, will be adorned with symbolic streamers.
Color us excited! The rollout of our London service next year just got real with this sneak peek at our first new pond-hopping A321LR. The tailfin pattern is aptly named Streamers—as in jetstream and as in let’s jet the party started! pic.twitter.com/h82ommEb4j

Despite the shutdown in the aviation market, the airline stays positive and remains committed to its anticipated launch to fly London routes from Boston Logan (BOS) and New York (JFK) airports at the end of 2021. It is planned that the route will be operated with the A321LR.
However, earlier in May 2020, American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) warned in advance that the timing of the launch may shift later than was planned initially.
